The Divide
Poetry
9,500 words
Some families put the “fun” in dysfunctional, and, in this collection, this author processes the particular brand of fun she found in hers. Exploring three distinct seasons: innocent childhood memories; messy, tumultuous breaking and dissolution; and, finally, healing as an adult and hopes for the future. These are poems that communicate a little sister’s perspective and great yearning for reconciliation with the people she never thought she’d experience such deep division with.
